RIP Fr. Gerald Hicks

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, The Order of Friars Minor Conventual of Great Britian and Ireland announce the passing of Fr. Gerald Hicks OFM Conv., a beloved Priest, a spiritual guide to the parishioners he has served, a cherished member of our community passed away peacefully at 11.40am on the 13th May 2023 the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, surrounded by his family, Fr. Kevin Hanley OFM Conv. and Fr Maximillian Martin OFM Conv. Fr. Gerald will be deeply missed by his community, parishioners, friends, and family. His loss leaves a void in our hearts and in the wider community.

Funeral Arrangements:

Reposing on Monday 22nd May in the Church of St. Anthony of Padua, Mossley Hill from 6pm to 9pm.

Requiem Mass on Tuesday 23rd May at 12.00 in St. Anthony of Padua, Mossley Hill. Principal Celebrant: Tom Williams, Emeritus Auxiliary Bishop of Liverpool.

Internment will take place in Co. Donegal (Ireland) on Thursday, May 25th following Mass at the Church of St. Joseph, Ballyshannon at 11.00am.

Family flowers only. Donations if desired to St. Margaret's Hospice, Clydebank where Fr. Gerald was cared for in his final days.

A reception will be held at the Rose of Mossley at 1.30pm
